Hal

Hal III

Hal came into our family 6 short years ago. He was born in California and raised by Pam and Gary. Later he went to college and was trained by Simi and Heather and other great staff who work and volunteer at Canine Companions for Independence. After intense training he was placed with his final owner Sawyer Hamilton. Hal changed not only Sawyer's life but the entire Hamilton family. The love of a dog is special because it is unconditional and pure. Hal had many adventures: four-wheeling, fishing, shopping, speaking engagements, photo shoots, golf tournaments, visits to Sawyer's school each year, parades, and on and on. Hal loved people as much as they loved him. He would let any child or adult maul him. He is famous and his beautiful face and character will live in the hearts of those who had the chance to know him. He also was the proud uncle of 4 puppies raised by his favorite sister Erica: Vecca, Karen, Nacho and Niobe He loved carrots, toy hedgehogs, ear scratches, walks, peanut butter or any other contraband he could get. He loved sleeping on the bed with Sawyer with his head on the pillow and taking up 90% of the bed. He will be greatly missed but his legacy will live on for the people's whose lives he touched. He was preceded in death by his favorite playmate: Daisy. They are together again and running free.

We love you Hal! Super Hal, Halburton, Harold, Hoover, Secret Shopper, we miss you already. Be good up there!
